Job summary

Abel Pet Clinic in Elk Grove seeks an experienced Veterinary Hospital Manager to lead daily operations while actively participating in clinical care. This hands-on role requires at least 50% floor work with the nursing team and strong leadership to drive success.

The ideal candidate will have veterinary hospital management experience; a California RVT license is preferred. This full-time, hourly position offers bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of veterinary clinical experience; strong nursing skills.
• California-licensed RVT preferred; hospital management experience required.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop veterinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Spend at least 50% on the floor with nursing and patient care.
• Oversee daily hospital workflow, scheduling, inventory and compliance.
• Manage budgets, payroll and data-driven operational improvements.
• Lead, coach and onboard staff; ensure staffing and scheduling.
• Support client service and resolve client concerns; promote compassionate care.
• Collaborate with Medical Director on hospital goals and facility needs.
