Job summary

Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA, seeks an experienced Veterinary Hospital Manager to lead daily operations while remaining actively involved in clinical care. This hands‑on leadership role requires spending at least 50% of time on the floor with the nursing and hospital team.

The ideal candidate has veterinary hospital management experience, 5+ years of clinical experience, and a California RVT license (preferred).

Qualifications

• Hospital management experience required.
• 5+ years of veterinary clinical experience with strong nursing skills.
• Active and good‑standing California RVT license preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop veterinary teams.
• Experience managing staffing, scheduling, budgets, payroll, and day‑to‑day operations.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Proficient with business software and able to adapt quickly to new systems.

Responsibilities

• Spend at least 50% on the floor providing hands‑on nursing support across appointments, surgery, dentistry, and procedures, including anesthesia and patient care.
• Oversee daily hospital workflow, scheduling, inventory, equipment, safety, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), and help implement hospital policies.
• Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets and payroll, and use data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead, coach, and develop the hospital team; oversee hiring/onboarding; support staffing and scheduling.
• Support client service team, resolve client concerns, and promote a compassionate client experience.
• Collaborate with Medical Director on goals, process improvements, service development, and facility needs.
