Job summary

Petco in San Antonio, TX seeks a Hospital Leader On Duty to provide excellent veterinary care to hospital patients and outstanding client service. You will lead the hospital team, supervise paraprofessional staff, coordinate appointments, and ensure adherence to Petco and Vetco Total Care policies.

The role requires at least 1 year of veterinary practice experience, strong leadership, and outstanding communication.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills required for supervising staff.
• Experience in a veterinary practice is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; compassionate and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, escort to exam room, record vitals and history in EMR.
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency procedures, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Handle specimens, medications, and maintain EMR records accurately.
• Coordinate appointments, answer calls, educate clients, and relay results.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia and recovery, discharge planning.
• Train new staff and ensure hospital cleanliness and policy adherence.
