Job summary

Petco is seeking a Hospital Leader On Duty to provide excellent veterinary care and customer service at our Vetco Total Care Hospitals. The role sets the tone with the team and ensures cohesive, motivated work across doctors, technicians, and support staff.

You will supervise paraprofessionals, oversee hospital operations, participate in training, and uphold Petco policies while delivering compassionate care during both routine and urgent cases.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record vitals, and document visits in the EMR; assist with appointments and surgeries.
• Restrain patients, process labs, dispense meds, and help maintain the EMR.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, and update records.
• Assist in anesthesia and surgical procedures, monitor during anesthesia and recovery.
• Perform in-hospital treatments, administer meds and IV fluids, and care for patients.
• Train new staff and keep the hospital clean and organized.
• Oversee hospital operations and supervise paraprofessional staff.
• Participate in ongoing staff training and knowledge sharing.
