Job summary

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency (PSVSE) in Gig Harbor, WA seeks an experienced Hospital Administrator to lead operations, grow the hospital, and support the Medical Director. You’ll drive financial performance, staffing development, and the client and team experience in a fast-paced specialty and emergency setting.

You’ll partner with leadership to recruit and mentor staff, optimize workflows, and build strong relationships with referring veterinarians while upholding PSVSE’s

Qualifications

• 3–5 years leadership experience in veterinary medicine or healthcare.
• Experience managing DVMs, physicians, or other professional staff.
• Strong understanding of hospital operations and financial performance.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
• People-focused leader who balances compassion with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hospital operations and achieve hospital goals.
• Foster a culture built on compassion, inclusion, accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop hospital team members.
• Support DVMs with administrative, HR, performance, and operational needs.
• Monitor financial performance, labor costs, revenue, and other key metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and client/team experience.
• Oversee scheduling, facilities, equipment, compliance, and other operational needs.
• Handle employee and client concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians and represent PSVSE.
• Partner with hospital leadership on strategic planning, business development, and growth.
