Job summary

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency (PSVSE) in Gig Harbor, WA, seeks an experienced Hospital Administrator to lead our growing emergency and specialty hospital. You will partner with the Medical Director to oversee operations, financial performance, and the client and team experience.

The role is hands-on, focusing on developing people, building relationships, solving operational challenges, and fostering a culture of compassion, inclusion, and gold-standard patient care.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years leadership and management experience in veterinary medicine or healthcare.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience managing DVMs or other licensed professionals is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of hospital operations and financial performance.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
• A people-focused leader who balances compassion with accountability.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment.
• Commitment to gold-standard patient care and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hospital operations with the Medical Director to meet goals.
• Foster a culture of compassion, inclusion, accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop hospital team members.
• Support DVMs with administrative, HR, performance, and operational needs.
• Monitor financial performance, labor costs, revenue, and key metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and client experience.
• Oversee scheduling, facilities, equipment, compliance, and other operational needs.
• Address employee and client concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Build relationships with referring veterinarians and represent PSVSE locally.
• Partner with hospital leadership on strategic planning and growth.
