Hillsboro Animal Hospital offers veterinary externships for 3rd and 4th year students to gain hands-on clinical experience. Externs work closely with Associate Veterinarians to learn history taking, exams, treatment planning, and diagnostics, including dentistry and surgeries.

Qualifications

• Veterinary students in clinical portion of education eligible for externship experiences.
• Externs will work with supervising veterinarians to gain hands-on clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Create treatment plans and participate in diagnostics and dentistry.
• Observe/assist or perform surgical procedures under supervision.
• Manage medical cases and communicate with medical team and clients.
