Job summary

A leading veterinary practice in San Angelo, TX, offers an externship for veterinary students. This program provides hands-on experience in a hybrid General Practice and Emergency environment, with mentorship from experienced veterinarians. Students will gain exposure to a variety of veterinary tasks and care procedures while receiving financial assistance through a travel stipend of up to $2,500.

Qualifications

Our 3-doctor team is dedicated to teaching and mentoring future veterinarians in a warm, collaborative setting. Whether you're assisting in routine wellness exams or helping with emergency procedures, you’ll get meaningful, hands-on experience every step of the way.

Externship Highlights

• Experience the full spectrum of care—from preventive medicine and diagnostics to surgical and emergency services
• Work closely with experienced, teaching-focused DVMs
• Practice communication skills with clients, techs, and the veterinary team

Develop confidence in exams, treatment plans, dental procedures, and more

Program Details

• Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks, flexible based on your schedule
• Eligibility: veterinary students encouraged to apply; clinical-year students eligible for stipends
• Travel Stipend: Up to $2,500 available for 3rd and 4th-year students (clinical portion)
