Job summary

A local veterinary practice in Richmond, Virginia, is offering a hands-on externship for veterinary students. The externship provides opportunities for one-on-one training with the Medical Director, involvement in various medical practices, and shadowing across departments. Eligible students in their clinical education phase may receive travel and living stipends. Job description

Overview

We are a small practice with a close-knit team. Externs would get a lot of one-on-one time with our Medical Director Dr. Dyer in wellness and sick exams, surgery, and dentistry. Externs may shadow any department of the hospital, including management. This externship has the potential to be very hands-on, especially for 4th year.

Details

• Most externship experiences at Countryside Veterinary Clinic range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
• All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
• Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
