Join to apply for the Veterinary Extern - General Practice role at NVA General Practice. This externship provides hands-on clinical experience and a view into the day-to-day operations of a veterinary practice. Responsibilities
- Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and diagnostics, including dentistry services as appropriate.
- Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures and provide medical management of patients.
- Enhance communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Program details
- Externship length ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
- Open to third- and fourth-year veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education.
- Travel or living stipends are available for eligible students; details on stipend amounts and the stipend program are provided by the hosting hospital.
