Woodlake Animal Hospital is offering an externship experience designed to help students understand the day-to-day operations of a veterinary practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical exposure.

The program covers gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, and observing or assisting surgical procedures within a supportive team committed to excellent medicine.

Externship Experience

An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day‑to‑day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Although every NVA hospital is unique, we all share a supportive environment that is committed to excellent medicine and provides exceptional service to animals and the people who love them.

Duration

Externship experiences at Woodlake Animal Hospital range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.

Stipend

Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
