Abqpetcarehospital in Murphy, Texas is offering an externship for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students. The externship provides hands-on clinical experience, allowing students to work closely with veterinarians and gain insights into daily operations.
Students will assist with physical exams, treatment plans, and surgical procedures while developing communication skills. Eligible students may receive a stipend for travel and living expenses during their externship.
The externship can range from two to eight weeks based on schedules, and all eligible employees benefit from comprehensive medical and dental coverage.
An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Although every NVA hospital is unique, we all share a supportive environment, a commitment to excellent medicine, and a dedication to providing exceptional service to animals and the people who love them.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dentistry services, observe or assist in surgical procedures, and manage patients medically. They will also have the opportunity to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Murphy Animal Clinic are open to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
