Overview

An externship experience at an NVA hospital gives students the opportunity to understand the day‑to‑day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Although each NVA hospital is unique, they share a supportive environment, a commitment to excellent medicine, and a dedication to providing exceptional service to animals and their owners.

Eligibility & Duration

Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for this externship. The experience typically lasts from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships are offered to students in their final clinical year.

Stipend

Students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel and living expense stipend. (See stipend amounts and details.)
