Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Paw Prints Veterinary Clinic offers a friendly environment, excellent learning opportunities, and compelling appointment & surgery diversity.

Students will work closely with the supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dentistry services, observe/assist or perform surgical procedures, and manage patients medically.

In addition to practicing clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
