Job summary

A veterinary care organization in Tampa is seeking veterinary students for externships. Students will gain hands-on experience in patient care, diagnostics, and surgical procedures while working closely with a supervising veterinarian. An opportunity for a travel/living expense stipend is also available. This role supports aspiring veterinarians in their clinical education and offers a chance to help both pets and their owners.

Job description

We are a fast-paced general practice facility that sees canine, feline and exotic patients. We offer dentistry, surgery, ultrasound, rehabilitation services and more. Located in the Tampa area with many outdoor activities to enjoy while not at the hospital!

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Please note that details on the stipend program are available separately.
