Overview

An externship experience at an NVA hospital offers students a unique chance to understand the day‑to‑day operations of a veterinary practice and gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Each NVA hospital shares a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and exceptional service to animals and their owners.

Eligibility & Stipend

Externship experiences at Apple Tree Cove Animal Hospital range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. First, second, and third‑year veterinary students are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Apple Tree Cove Animal Hospital is $1,500.
