Job summary

Abqpetcarehospital invites veterinary students for an externship to understand day-to-day operations and gain hands-on clinical experience. Students will gather patient histories, perform physical exams, and assist with surgical procedures.

This externship ranges from two to eight weeks and offers a stipend for travel/living expenses. NVA boasts a comprehensive benefits program and is committed to excellent medicine and exceptional service for animals and their owners.

Job description

An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. Although every NVA hospital is unique, we all have some things in common: an environment that is supportive, committed to excellent medicine, and provides exceptional service to animals and the people who love them.

• Practice communication skills with medical team, support staff, and clients.

Most externship experiences at Oak Point Veterinary Care range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.

Stipend and Program Details

Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
