Wilcrest Animal Hospital in Houston, TX offers a veterinary externship for students to gain hands-on clinical experience. Externs work closely with veterinarians and team members to gain real-world exposure in small animal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and behavior.
You will take histories, perform exams, help develop plans, and participate in day-to-day clinical work with mentorship tailored to your interests and level of experience.

Externs will work closely with our veterinarian and team members to gain valuable, real-world experience in:
Taking patient histories and performing physical exams
Developing diagnostic and treatment plans
Assisting with (or performing) surgical and dental procedures
Participating in internal medicine, wellness, and behavioral case workups
Practicing communication skills with both clients and the veterinary team
