National Veterinary Associates offers externship opportunities at their Flagler Beach location. This program allows clinical-year veterinary students to gain valuable clinical experience while working closely with professional veterinarians. Students will engage in various medical activities such as patient assessments, treatment planning, and surgical assistance. A flexible schedule and a supportive learning environment are provided.
An externship experience at an NVA hospital offers students a valuable opportunity to understand the daily operations of the practice and gain hands-on clinical experience. While each NVA hospital is unique, they all share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and managing patient care. This externship also provides an opportunity to enhance communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externships typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. These externships at Flagler Animal Hospital are designed for clinical-year students.
We offer flexible scheduling, a fully equipped lab, highly trained technicians, and are conveniently located near the beach.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Click HERE to view the stipend amounts and HERE for more details.
