National Veterinary Associates offers an externship for veterinary students at Animal Health Care of Marlboro. Students will gain hands-on experience working with experienced veterinarians in various tasks, including health exams, surgeries, and managing patient care. This opportunity helps enhance both technical and communication skills while fostering a supportive learning environment.
At Animal Health Care of Marlboro, we foster an amazing culture and a fun work atmosphere. Students will gain true hands-on experience with one of our three doctors. Externs will participate in wellness exams, dentals, and routine spays and neuters.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and managing patient care. Additionally, student externs will have opportunities to enhance their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
The externship duration ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
