A leading veterinary practice seeks 3rd and 4th-year veterinary students for externship opportunities. Externs will gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, working alongside veterinarians in a busy clinic. Responsibilities include patient interaction, examination, and assistance in surgical procedures, with the potential for a travel stipend.
An externship experience at an NVA hospital offers students the opportunity to understand the daily operations of the practice and gain hands-on clinical experience. While each NVA hospital is unique, they share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and exceptional service to animals and their owners.
Our busy clinic is located minutes from the beach, with the summer season being our busiest, providing a fast-paced externship experience. We also offer holistic care.
Students will work closely with supervising veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or assisting with surgical procedures, and managing patient care. Additionally, externs will develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. At Parkway Veterinary Hospital - Marmora, externships are designed for 3rd and 4th-year veterinary students.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Click HERE to view stipend amounts and HERE for stipend program details.
