Job description

Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital is a close-knit team of professionals committed to providing exceptional care to patients and clients. Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain hands-on experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing medical cases. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to enhance their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
