National Veterinary Associates is offering an externship for veterinary students to gain hands-on experience working with a dedicated team in a positive environment. This program allows students to develop skills in patient care, treatment planning, and enhances communication with veterinary teams and clients. Stipends are available to eligible students during their externship.

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain hands-on experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing medical cases. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to enhance their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
