Job description

Clinical Year Externship – I-20 Animal Hospital

I-20 Animal Hospital is a 24‑hour full‑service veterinary medical facility located in Hudson Oaks, TX, 12‑14 minutes west of Fort Worth. The hospital provides routine pet health care as well as emergency and critical care.

Externship Overview

Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dentistry services, observe or assist in surgical procedures, and manage medical care. Externs will also develop communication skills by interacting with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Duration and Eligibility

Externship lengths range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
