Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Doctor Coordinator for Internal Medicine in Washington. The role supports doctors during shifts, manages medical records, coordinates transfers and diagnostics, and communicates with clients and referral partners.

Strong client-service experience and organizational skills are essential. The position requires at least two years in a client service or hospitality setting, with emphasis on accurate documentation and teamwork to ensure smooth outpatient procedures and patient

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in client service or hospitality.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to document medical notes on a computer and organize/work prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a given shift and may support different doctors within a department.
• Ensures follow-through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s).
• Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics.
• Delegates team responsibilities to other members as needed (rounding cases, scheduling, information gathering).
• Acts as the point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries when the doctor is unavailable.
• Maintains departmental client communication regarding cases and care plans.
• Drafts medical record documentation for supported doctor(s); creates initial patient history and notes.
• Monitors emails and voicemails for the doctor(s).
• Assists with outpatient procedures as required by doctors (bandage changes, radiographs, samples, meds).
• May escort patients to exam rooms and help prepare rooms.
• May train or mentor team members.
• Coordinates prescription refills as needed.
