Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Hospital Midlothian is seeking a dedicated Front Desk Team Member for the night shift. You will greet pet parents, manage calls, and coordinate check-ins while ensuring the lobby remains welcoming and orderly.

You will handle payments and maintain smooth communication with medical teams to support lives during overnight hours. Experience in a veterinary clinic is preferred, with a HS diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• The Welcome: Greeting stressed pet parents with empathy.
• The Switchboard: Managing phones, transferring calls, and keeping calm under pressure.

• The Cashier: Processing payments cleanly (Cherry, CareCredit, ScratchPay, etc.).
• The Sanctuary: Keeping our lobby clean, stocked with snacks, and welcoming.

Physical Requirements and Workplace Environment

Veterinary medicine is rewarding but it is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to meet the following operational needs with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Mobility - Ability to stand, walk and bend frequently throughout long shifts
• Lifting - Ability to lift up to 40lbs independently and use teamwork for heavier patients.
• Sensory Tolerance : Ability to navigate high-stimulus environments with loud barking and strong odors
• Resilience - Ability to manage occasional scratches and handle interactions with highly emotional clients
