Job summary

MedVet is a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider seeking a collaborative and driven Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our clinical team. The proposed schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 8pm to 8:30am, with a hiring range of $17.00–$28.00 per hour based on experience.

You’ll work on a dynamic ER team, moving quickly through varied cases and providing top-tier patient care. You will record rounds, prioritize patients, assist with treatment plans, educate clients on home care and

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required; emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRI, unit conversions).
• Flexible with hours and able to work extra shifts when needed.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced ER environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

We are looking for: Emergency Veterinary Assistant

Proposed Schedule: Thursday- Saturday 8p-8:30a

This role has a hiring range of $17.00-28.00/hr based on experience.

What you’ll do:

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary

• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures

• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients

• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:

• Prior veterinary experience required; previous emergency experience desired
