In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:## Job Title:Veterinary Curriculum Instructors## Department:Veterinary Medicine | College AdministrationThe Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking dedicated and experienced veterinary general practitioners to join our faculty as a Veterinary Curriculum Instructors (Lecturers, full-time, teaching). This position is ideal for a veterinarian with a strong clinical background and a passion for teaching and mentorship. Applicants must demonstrate strong (5 years minimum) experience in general veterinary practice or mixed/livestock species specialized practice (board certified or board eligible), and must also demonstrate leadership skills, strong collaborative efforts, effective communication skills, and sound clinical reasoning/judgement. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited institution and possess a current veterinary license in good standing. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an Ohio Veterinary License.The successful candidate will report to the Associate Dean for Professional Programs and support the educational mission of the college through using evidence-based teaching methods for content delivery and assisting with the organizational management of the hands-on skills-based curricular threads: Clinical Skills, Communication and Collaboration, and Integrative Problems courses across years 1-3. The successful candidate will be expected to work directly with DVM students across years 1-3, creating course content and teaching hands-on laboratory sessions in the Clinical Skills and Communications threads. The successful candidate will also assume some course coordination duties in those threads that demands working alongside specialist faculty, veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, other staff and student employees. For the integrated problems thread, the successful candidate will be tasked with course administration duties and will need to deliver some case-based reasoning sessions that highlight critical thinking, clinical reasoning and a Spectrum of Care approach to client and patient management. In addition to the formal curriculum, this individual will also teach in the Spectrum of Care certificate courses and the summer Spectrum of Care program for early pre-clinical students.**Key Responsibilities:*** **Teaching & Student Engagement:** + Clinical Skills: Develop and deliver content in laboratory sessions for year 1-3 DVM students; Develop and participate in OSCEs (objective structured clinical examinations); Mentor student development and practice. + Communication & Collaboration: Facilitate laboratory sessions; Provide didactic instruction to support development of communication and professional skills; Develop and participate in OSCEs (objective structured clinical examinations). + Integrated Problems: Develop and deliver case-based content to year 1-3 DVM students to develop their clinical reasoning and critical thinking.* **Course Management:*** Clinical Skills: Collaborate with the Clinical Skills Team (veterinarians, technicians, assistants, staff and students) to assist with course administration and help support clinical skills team. Includes:* Organizing and managing laboratory sessions – Creating, posting and updating lab manuals, working with staff to inform equipment and supplies purchase and procurement, assisting with animal care and use protocols (IACUC)* Integrated Problems: Assist course coordinator with course delivery.
