Cladda Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Team in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Criticalist to lead our ICU and critical care service. You will work alongside emergency clinicians and other specialty services to provide high-quality, coordinated care for complex patients.

The role offers a collaborative, well-equipped hospital environment with ongoing training, mentorship, and opportunities to develop a growing specialty service within a 24-hour

Competenze

• DVM/VMD with completion of an accredited emergency and critical care residency.
• Board certification with the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care preferred; board-eligible candidates encouraged to apply.
• Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills.
• Virginia license or eligibility to practice is required.

Mansioni

• Oversee management of critically ill and post-surgical patients in the ICU, including sepsis, trauma, respiratory failure, and MODS.
• Perform and interpret advanced monitoring and interventions (mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, blood products, high-flow oxygen).
• Collaborate with the emergency team and other specialties on multidisciplinary cases.
• Build and mentor a technical support team for critical care, including ICU protocols.
• Train emergency clinicians and technicians in advanced critical care techniques.
• Serve as a resource for referring veterinarians and client communication about prognosis and options.
• Contribute to rounds and development of hospital protocols.
