Job summary

PetVet Care Centers is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency Trained Veterinary Criticalist for our Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA. You will join a team of veterinarians, technicians and support staff, working closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.

The RVRC offers 24/7 emergency and critical care with specialties including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Neurology and more, backed by modern imaging and treatment

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency.
• Current state veterinary license.
• DEA registration must be obtained/maintained.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Communicate with clients and educate on care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Prescribe medications following protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital/Regional Managers on priorities.
• Oversee daily hospital operations from intake to discharge.
• Attend rounds and participate in continuous training.
