Job summary

MedVet in San Jose, CA is seeking a friendly, organized client services specialist to join our emergency and specialty team. You will greet clients, check them in, answer phones, escort pets to exam rooms, and help maintain medical records.

This role offers flexible shifts and competitive pay from $21 to $27 per hour, with evening, overnight, and weekend differentials to reward extra hours. Strong communication, client service, and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced veterinary setting.

Schedule:

No set schedule, pick up shifts when available

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $21 to $27 per hour based on skillset and experience. We support our evening and weekend caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

• Hours worked from 8pm - 11:59pm = base pay + $4/hour
• Hours worked from 12am - 7:59am = base pay + $6/hour
• Hours worked on weekends (day or night) = base pay + $3/hour + any applicable differentials

What you’ll do:

• Greet and check‑in clients
• Answer telephones and transfer calls
• Escort clients and their pets to exam rooms
• Manage medical records, charts, reports and correspondence
• Discuss payment options and process payments
• Maintain a neat and clean lobby

Who you are:

• Ability to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent client service skills and phone etiquette
• Attention to detail, self‑motivated and the ability to work successfully as part of a team and autonomously
• Sense of urgency within a fast‑paced environment
• Some flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Critical thinking skills and ability to anticipate needs inter & intra‑departmentally
• General computer competency required including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Previous experience in veterinary setting (preferred)
