Job summary

Pet Specialists of Austin is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Client Service Representative to join our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. You will be a friendly face at the front desk, handling phones, scheduling, check-ins, and client communications with accuracy and empathy.

This full-time role runs 3:00 PM to midnight, with weekend and holiday availability required, and includes benefits and the chance to grow within Thrive Pet Healthcare network.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital, animal hospital, or related client service setting.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Comfortable answering multi-line phones, scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, and processing payments.
  • Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and practice management software preferred.
  • Positive, patient, and professional approach when supporting clients, pets, and team members.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong accountability and a willingness to learn.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by attentively addressing the needs of clients and their pets.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments and specialty procedures, set reminders, manage patient and client flow, check patients in and out, and address basic client concerns.
  • Facilitate clear communication between clients and the medical team as needed.
  • Accurately enter and maintain client and patient information in the computer system, ensuring medical records are up to date.
  • Process client payments and invoices, and follow up on outstanding or missing payments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lobby, waiting area, and workspace.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Schedule: Full-time, 3:00 PM to midnight. Weekend and holiday availability required.

About You

You are a compassionate and organized Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR)/Veterinary Receptionist with strong customer service, front desk, and client communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary clinic or animal hospital. You’re comfortable managing appointment scheduling, multi-line phones, check in/check out, payment processing, and practice management software while delivering an exceptional client experience.

Your Experience & Skills
