Our Lake Norman practice in Huntersville, NC is looking for a skilled Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team. We perform a wide range of procedures, and are seeking someone interested in growth and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care for patients, while supporting clinic productivity.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations and handle animals during procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging such as x-rays, ultrasounds, and CT scans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of kennels, exam rooms, and equipment.
• Update medical charts, administer medications, and care for animals during visits.
• Communicate basic diagnoses to pet owners professionally.
• Qualified technicians may perform dental prophylaxis, place IVCs, venipuncture, and assist with surgeries.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician.
• Vet Technician licensure (RVT, LVT, CVT) preferred.
• Knowledge of lab procedures, medical records, and SOAP notes.
• Ability to read fecal floats, cytology, and operate in-house hematology and chemistry equipment.
• Knowledge of vaccines, vital signs, and skilled in phlebotomy.
• Experience with dental prophylaxis and anesthesia monitoring.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and physical ability to handle animals and perform job duties.
