Position: Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital and provide exceptional care to our patients. You will work alongside skilled Vet Assistants, support Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in daily operations. Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, surgery prep, and assisting during procedures.
2. Restrain animals safely, efficiently, and compassionately.
3. Obtain accurate vitals, medical histories, and note patient condition changes.
4. Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
5. Maintain all medical equipment including laboratory and surgical tools.
6. Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient updates and questions.

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays.
3. Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling.
4. Strong communication skills, good judgment, ability to manage stressful situations, and teamwork.
5. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
