Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital seeks a dedicated Sterile Supply Assistant to support our Surgery team. You will prepare instruments and operating rooms for surgery, maintain sterile technique, and ensure availability of supplies.

The role requires a proactive, organized approach and a commitment to high-quality patient care. You will decontaminate and sterilize instruments, assist with supply management, and act as a resource for the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and operating room for surgery.
• Troubleshooting and removing faulty equipment from service to submit for repair or replacement.
• Maintaining appropriate quantities of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Decontaminating and cleaning operating rooms, sterile supply room, and equipment according to established procedures.
• Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and wrapping packs
• Serving as a resource/reference to surgical team with regards to surgical equipment.
• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Utilize their ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
• Performs physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understands normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
• Able to set up intravenous fluids.
• Administers subcutaneous fluids.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Sterile Supply Assistant to join our Surgery team!

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

We are seeking a Sterile Supply Assistant with a self-motivated, positive attitude to add to our surgical team. This person should be organized and focused on maintaining high-quality instruments and patient care through sterile preparation.

As a Sterile Supply Assistant, you will:
