Job summary

WellHaven is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and uphold high standards of care at our Savage, MN hospital. You will contribute to a collaborative team, ensure accurate charting, and assist with anesthesia and dentistry procedures in a fast-paced setting.

Role includes client education, reception duties, and inventory management while adhering to OSHA and WellHaven policies to support overall hospital success and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent experience.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and dental procedures.
• 3+ years in the veterinary industry.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in surgery, dentistry, laboratory procedures, venipuncture, proper restraint techniques, and sterile environment.
• Contribute to day-to-day hospital efficiency and smooth operation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Maintain accurate medical charting meeting hospital quality standards.
• Educate clients about Wellness Plans and pet care guidance.
• Assist with reception duties: calls, scheduling, intake and discharge.
