Woodbury Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to support a broad range of clinical duties and reception tasks in Woodbury, NY. The role blends patient care, client communication, and team collaboration in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, anesthesia support, and surgical prep. Training and growth opportunities are available in a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples and perform diagnostic imaging.
• Manage nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases.
• Assist with surgeries and anesthesia management.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively with clients.
• Prepare for surgical procedures.
• Maintain safety and sanitation; may encounter odors, bites, and injuries.
