Small Door Inc. seeks a veterinary assistant to join our New York clinics in a full-time role. You’ll work in a modern, AAHA-accredited, stress-free environment with a supportive nurse-doctor team, and a 24/7 telemedicine/triage setup to keep focus on patients.

You’ll recognize emergencies, assess patients, record vitals, assist with diagnostics, radiography, in-house labs, and medication preparation and administration, while pursuing growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturdays).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong communication with clients.

Responsabilités

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assessing patients.
• Record vitals and assist doctors with diagnostics.
• Complete treatments as instructed by the doctor.
• Basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitor changes in patients and provide compassionate care.
• Assist in radiography capture.
• Prepare samples for outside reference labs.
• Run in-house labs.
• Prepare medications.
• Administering medications.
• Working tele-triage shifts (additional stipend).
• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment.
