Job summary

New Haven Pet Hospital in New Haven, Indiana is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our compassionate team. You will assist veterinarians during exams, restrain animals, educate pet owners, and prepare exam rooms.

Qualifications

• Veterinary assistant experience is a plus but not required—we’re happy to train motivated individuals!
• A positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for helping animals.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams, procedures, and surgeries.
• Safely restrain animals during treatments and diagnostics.
• Educate pet owners on proper care, medications, and aftercare instructions.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and materials for appointments.
• Perform basic lab tasks, including processing in-house diagnostic tests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the hospital.
