BluePearl Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team in the Radiology department.

Position Details:

• Work Schedule: Full Time
• Pay Range VA I/VAII: $19.35 - $28.70/hour

This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Shift Differentials:

• Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $3.50
• Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $4.00
• Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand medication classifications, side effects, and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Administer medications appropriately.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitoring equipment for ASA I or II patients.
• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency as assigned.

• Develop advanced skills such as phlebotomy, IV and urinary catheter placement, NG tube placement, and more.
