Position Overview

Midwest Veterinary Specialists, a state-of-the-art veterinary surgery, sports medicine, and rehabilitation hospital located in Greenfield, Wisconsin, is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our Physical Rehabilitation Therapy team. Our facility offers comprehensive modalities and a supportive environment to help dogs and cats live their best lives, from consultation to therapeutic programs.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well within a team. Prior experience in veterinary rehabilitation is preferred but not required. Self-motivation and multitasking skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient evaluations and rehabilitation therapies, including obtaining history, assessing, taking vitals, medication administration, and performing diagnostics like musculoskeletal ultrasound and PRP preparations.
• Perform physical therapy modalities such as underwater treadmill, pool therapy, laser, shockwave, stretching, massage, and heat/cold therapy under DVM supervision.
• Assist with diagnostics (x-ray, lab work, CT).
• Restrain animals for examinations and diagnostics.
• Provide nursing care and TLC for patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Educate clients and communicate effectively.
• Keep the work environment clean and organized.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of veterinary assistant experience.
• Ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Greenfield, WI 53220.

Employment Details

• Full-time, entry-level position.
