Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist Assistant - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments. This position provides flexibility to travel the country and work in various settings. On assignment, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities include:
- Attending and contributing to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.
- Collaborating with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities suited to each patient's needs and capabilities.
- Acting as an assistant to the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
- Instructing patients, families, and caregivers in skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under supervision.
- Maintaining appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and reporting equipment repairs as necessary.
- Ensuring high-quality patient service in a caring, compassionate environment that recognizes individual needs and rights.
- Implementing individualized treatment plans established by the primary Physical Therapist.
- Providing treatments such as therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance, integumentary repair, and use of modalities.
- Organizing and facilitating treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
- Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
- Available to travel and reside temporarily outside the primary home location.
Salary Range
USD $45.00 - USD $50.00 per hour.
