Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and staff in a busy hospital setting. You’ll educate clients on wellness plans, assist with procedures, and grow through NAVTA-aligned training and development opportunities.

A NAVTA-approved program completion or equivalent experience is preferred, with a high school diploma; commitment to compassionate, professional service is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients and support veterinarians and vet techs.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs during procedures.
• Assist with procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech support.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other hospital team members.
