Job summary

United Vision Pet Partners in the United States is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support our medical team in a fast-paced, compassionate urgent care setting. You will work alongside veterinarians, certified technicians, and fellow assistants to deliver high-quality care.

The role emphasizes teamwork, learning, and patient comfort, from exam-room prep to assisting with procedures and post-care instructions.

Qualifications

• Urgent care/specialty hospital experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in anesthetic drug administration and monitoring.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassion and empathy for pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a thorough history from pet owners
• Assess stability and obtain vitals accurately
• Assist veterinarians in routine exams and procedures
• Administer medications and anesthesia; monitor patients
• Collect and perform in-hospital laboratory tests
• Prepare and maintain sterile technique for procedures
• Position pets for radiographs and take images with correct technique
• Educate owners on diagnosis, care, and post-treatment instructions
• Collaborate with team to provide exceptional patient care
• Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment
