Job summary

Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital is a progressive, full-service companion animal hospital and boarding facility seeking a Veterinary Assistant who is passionate, detail‑oriented, and eager to support veterinarians and clients.

You will help with exams, procedures, anesthesia monitoring, patient care, and medications, while also assisting in radiographs and lab work. Strong English communication and compassion for animals are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CVA certification is preferred or enrollment in an accredited veterinary assisting program is a plus.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with clients and team members.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and patient care.
• Dispense medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Assist technicians with radiographs, patient positioning, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and assist with lab diagnostics.
• Monitor and provide comfort care to patients.
• Support the kennel team with animal care (baths, nail trims, etc.).
• Perform other duties to support the team and ensure excellent patient care.
