Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and maintain safe, organized hospital operations. You will assist in procedures, monitor patients, and ensure quality care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires NAVTA-certified training or equivalent, strong communication and multitasking abilities, and the ability to work weekends or evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Act as the extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian and veterinary technician to ensure the best quality pet care and to maximize productivity.
• Communicate with veterinarian, technicians and all associates to maintain patient flow.
• Provide professional, efficient service at all times, including tasks that don’t require clinician involvement.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care and hospital services.
• Obtain relevant client history and maintain complete medical charts.
