BluePearl Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN seeks an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Assistant to support our neurology team and patients.

Annual pay ranges from $20.32 to $25.25 per hour, with rotating on-call shifts and holiday ER/ICU coverage. You will grow through our Kahuna skills program and continuous education opportunities to advance your veterinary career.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Discharge, perform call backs and refill medications.
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician.
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart rate, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate.
• Assist Neurology doctor with incoming appointments.
• Understand normal vital parameters.
• Set up intravenous fluids and operate IV pumps.
• Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.
• Learn advanced imaging: MRI and CT.
• Work in ER and ICU as needed.

Payscale : $20.32 - $25.25

We have many specialized technicians in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Emergency/Critical Care. Applicants should have a strong knowledge base, motivation to learn, and ambition to work in a fast‑paced team environment.

As a Neurology Veterinary Assistant, you will:

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Discharge, perform call backs and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Assist Neurology doctor with incoming appointments
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with assisting and learning IVC placement and venipuncture
• Set up intravenous fluids.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
• Learn advanced imaging: MRI and CT
• Working in our ER and ICU department as need
