Lefferts Animal Hospital in Richmond Hill, NY is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to handle triage, lab analysis, imaging, and patient nursing care for a busy animal hospital. You will support veterinarians and staff, manage daily duties and communicate treatment plans to clients.

The role requires lifting, long hours, ability to restrain patients, and accurate vital signs recording. Benefits and ongoing training are provided."

Formación

• Lifting at least 40 pounds required.
• Long/irregular hours may be required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• multitasking in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Ability to safely restrain patients and ensure safety of clients and staff.
• Assist veterinarians, techs, and front desk with daily duties.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary environment for all patients.
• Prepare exam rooms and disinfect surfaces and equipment.
• Record patient vitals including weight, temp, pulse and resp rate.
• Provide basic pet care education to clients (nutrition, vaccines, parasitic control).
• Refer questions outside scope to veterinarian or team member.
• Prepare vaccines with aseptic technique.
• Administer vaccines per clinic policy and guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Triage incoming patients and analyze lab samples.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and manage medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans with clients.
• Assist in surgical prep and anesthesia management.
