Quality Veterinary Care in Elmont, NY is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced, small-animal practice. You will support clinical teams with exams, lab work, imaging, and patient handling, ensuring low-stress visits for pets and their families.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience preferred.

• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!

• Thursday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $23-$25/hr depending on experience

Schedule: Weekend shifts required
