BluePearl Pet Hospital in Kirkland, WA seeks a knowledgeable Veterinary Assistant for the Critical Care department. The role involves diagnostics (radiographs, labs), ICU/inpatient patient setup, discharge coordination, and client communication.

You will work Sunday and Monday (ICU) and Wednesday (Triage) with shifts from 6am-7pm or 7am-8pm. The ideal candidate is committed to compassionate pet care, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and collaborates well with the team.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their Critical Care department in Kirkland, WA!

Pay: $23 - $31 / hour

Schedule: Sunday + Monday (ICU) 6am-7pm, Wednesday (Triage) 7am-8pm

Our Veterinary Assistants perform diagnostics (radiographs, labwork, etc), setting patients up in ICU or Inpatient ward, discharging patients, and handle client communication.

As a Critical Care Veterinary Assistant, You Will

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.
• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
