Job summary

WellHaven Pet Health seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring high-quality care for pets. You will assist in surgery, dentistry, lab work, and venipuncture, while maintaining patient records and educating clients on wellness plans.

Candidate should have NAVTA-approved training and prior veterinary experience. The role is onsite in a fast-paced hospital environment with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary care including anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and communicate with clients effectively.
• Completion of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians in clinical duties such as surgery, dentistry, lab work, and venipuncture.
• Support hospital operations and day-to-day workflows.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and pet care.
• Perform reception duties: answer calls, schedule appointments, and process patient intake/discharge.
• Monitor inventory and assist in managing hospital supplies.
• Act as advocate for hospital performance and patient well-being.
